Answer: You have to have both to be eligible for the Family Energy Rebate.
The Family Energy Rebate is a state government payment that assists NSW family households in receipt of the Family Tax Benefit in covering energy bills. Depending on your circumstances you could be eligible to $180 a year.
To be eligible you must be:
- A NSW resident
- The account holder of the electricity account; and
- receive the Family Tax Benefit during the previous financial year.
Applying is easy, you can do this online or via a paper application.
